Overview:
The OSS Through Java™ Practitioners’ Workshop offers in depth guidance and
practice on OSS/J APIs. The
workshop begins with a brief introduction to OSS/J. It provides a description of how OSS/J APIs represent an
implementation of NGOSS principles, a detailed walkthrough of the APIs, using
Testing Capability Kits and Reference Implementations, how to implement OSS/J
APIs, how to employ the OSS/J Design Guidelines to customize the APIs by
extending them, and how other enterprises are using the APIs and Design
Guidelines. The course covers some of the same ground as the overview course
but in much greater detail.
Attendees will leave with sufficient knowledge to begin using APIs in their
development efforts, from employing the APIs in a legacy environment to their
use in new development projects and in combination with procured applications.
